What Does a Room Parent Do?
He/she assists teachers in communicating with other parents in the class regarding a variety of matters, such as classroom volunteer opportunities and special requests for class activities (e.g., class holiday parties). The room parent supports the teacher in other areas as needed, and helps coordinate teacher gifts. Typically there are two room parents per classroom, depending on the needs of the teacher.
