Go Green at Brooks!
The Brooks Green Team is a parent-run, PTA-sponsored committee dedicated to enhancing the environmental awareness of the Brooks Elementary School community.
This year, the Brooks Green Team plans to hold a Classroom Energy Star Contest to measure recycling and energy use, organize a boat building station – building with found and reusable items – and host a boat race at this year’s Fall Festival and continue its After-School Environmental Club.
The Green Team also plans to hold two Bike and Walk to School Rallies (one in Fall, one in Spring), organize the Brooks Earth Day Festival or participate in the City-Wide Earth Day Festival, and continue Compost Awareness Efforts.
Interested parents can get involved in any of these activities or help organize additional ones. All levels of interest works for the Green Team, whether you have just a little or a lot of time to devote.
The Green Team also works with a school district-appointed Environmental Steward who helps facilitate activities in and around the school.
